Blackstock Country Estate sits at Hellingly in East Sussex, roughly a 40-minute drive from Brighton via the A27. Tunbridge Wells is around 35 minutes away and London about 90. The distance is the point. Far enough out that arriving feels like part of the day, close enough that nobody treats the invitation as an expedition.
Plenty of couples keep one foot in the city. Guests can base themselves in Brighton and travel out in the morning, or stay on the estate and head back to the coast the next day. There is plenty of parking on site.

Ceremonies And Civil Partnerships
The legal side happens on site. Ceremonies usually take place in the wing of the Tudor Barn, which has a reveal curtain, Chiavari chairs you can dress however you like, and air conditioning for hot summer days. Between May and September you can marry outdoors in the grounds instead, and we supply the white folded resin chairs, the outdoor PA and the registrars’ table and chairs.

Where Your Guests Stay
There is accommodation on the estate for close family and friends, along with the bridal suite where you can get ready in the morning over a continental breakfast. Tell us your numbers when you enquire and we will talk you through what is available for your date.
It makes a difference to how the evening goes. When the people closest to you are staying on site, nobody is watching the clock for the last drive back to Brighton, and you wake up where you got married.
The Food
Catering is handled in house. The choice takes in a whole Sussex roast pig, feasting barbecues, champagne afternoon tea, canapés, sharing boards and traditional three or four course wedding breakfasts. Menus are built with you rather than picked off a card, tastings are part of the process, and we use local Sussex produce where we can. Welcome drinks and canapés can be served in the courtyard or on the terrace, looking out over the Cuckmere valley.
