The Barns And Grounds
The Tudor Barn is a restored 500-year-old Sussex barn of ancient oak timbers, with a refurbished minstrel’s gallery above a large oak bar and chandeliers made from antique cartwheels. Its wing hosts the ceremony behind a reveal curtain, and it returns in the evening for the band and the dancing. The Granary has a sandstone floor, an exposed vaulted ceiling and floor-to-ceiling glazing opening onto the courtyard, and seats up to 120 for the wedding breakfast.
Outside there are two lakes, a scented wedding garden, several courtyards, meadows and a stretch of the Cuckmere river running through the valley. Wild deer wander across the grounds. It is working Sussex farmland rather than a landscaped hotel garden, and the views run out to the Weald and the South Downs National Park.
Where Guests Stay
There is on-site accommodation for close family and friends, along with the bridal suite for the morning preparations. The night before and the morning after can both be yours, which takes the travel problem away entirely. Ask us when you enquire and we will explain the options for your date.

The Food
Everything is prepared in house. A whole Sussex roast pig, feasting barbecues served family style, champagne afternoon tea, or a traditional three or four course wedding breakfast with canapés first. Menus are built with you around the season and your guests, using local Sussex produce where we can, and tasted before the day.
Choosing Your Date
Sussex weddings look completely different across the year, and exclusive wedding venues in Sussex ought to give you the same privacy whichever season you pick. May to September opens up outdoor ceremonies in the grounds, with our white folded resin chairs, outdoor PA and the registrars’ table set out for you. Spring brings the meadows and the long evenings, autumn gives you low light across the Weald, and winter turns the Tudor Barn into a candlelit room that needs very little decoration.
Midweek and off-season dates are where the value sits, and they are exactly as exclusive as a Saturday in July. Our twilight weddings, with ceremonies from 4pm, start from £5,450 for 2026 and £5,950 for 2027, based on 50 guests Monday to Thursday, with a weekend supplement and additional guests charged per head.
Getting Here
The estate sits in East Sussex between Eastbourne, Hastings, Brighton and Tunbridge Wells, which puts most of the county within a comfortable drive. Couples come to us from Hailsham, Battle, Seaford, Lewes and the surrounding villages, as well as from further afield. Brighton is roughly 40 minutes, Tunbridge Wells around 35 and London about 90. There is plenty of parking on site.

Can we have the reception only?
Yes. If you are marrying elsewhere, we offer a reception-only option with in-house catering, an open bar and access to both barns and the grounds.
