On Saturday 9th November 2024, Lauren and Alex celebrated their wedding at Blackstock Estate, surrounded by the rustic beauty of the Sussex countryside. With 70 guests, their day was filled with heartfelt moments, laughter, and stunning views.
Lauren’s day began with an early arrival at 9:00 AM in the bridal suite, where a peaceful atmosphere set the tone for the celebrations ahead. Accompanied by her bridal party, she tucked into a light breakfast of pastries while enjoying expert hair and makeup styling by Chloe Campbell. This quiet time offered a lovely contrast to the energy that would build throughout the day, allowing Lauren space to take it all in.
Meanwhile, final preparations were underway across the estate. Joanna from Inspiration Decor dressed the Tudor and Granary Barns in seasonal elegance: think warm, rich tones and textures that perfectly complemented the early November light. Floral touches by Mad Lilies added a burst of colour and natural softness to the rustic backdrop.
At 2:00 PM, guests gathered in the Granary Barn for the ceremony. With soft lighting and exposed beams, the barn provided a cosy yet sophisticated setting as the couple exchanged vows. A personalised Spotify playlist played gently in the background, underscoring the emotion of the moment. After saying “I do,” Lauren and Alex were showered with confetti in the Tudor Wing as family and friends cheered them into married life.
Photographer John Schofield captured every moment with style, and the couple made use of the estate’s scenic grounds and the Blackstock buggy to explore beautiful photo spots that will remain treasured memories.
After the ceremony, guests enjoyed a relaxed drinks reception with an enticing menu of cocktails and bubbly, served alongside a curated selection of canapés. From chicken satay skewers and mini beef burgers to Chinese vegetable spring rolls, the menu was inclusive of all dietary requirements, ensuring everyone could indulge.
The setting encouraged easy mingling, with guests enjoying the views, chatting over drinks, and soaking up the joyful energy of the afternoon. This time also gave Lauren and Alex a moment to pause together, sampling canapés and greeting their guests as newlyweds.
By 4:00 PM, guests were seated for the wedding breakfast. As the couple were joyfully introduced by host Cory, the room was filled with applause and anticipation for the evening ahead.
Speeches were held before the meal, filling the room with laughter, tears, and tributes. The wedding breakfast began with tandoori chicken salad, followed by a rich feather blade of beef with mustard mash, and finally, a warming sticky toffee pudding with caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream. Guests with vegetarian, vegan, or allergy requirements enjoyed specially tailored alternatives such as Mediterranean mille-feuille and roasted root vegetable tagine. Children dined on a classic menu of chicken bites and ice cream.
Tea, coffee, and mints were served to round off the meal, giving guests a moment to relax and take in the atmosphere before the evening festivities.
As the sun set, the Tudor Barn came to life. At 7:30 PM, the couple welcomed evening guests for the party. Lauren and Alex kicked things off with the cutting of their wedding cake, followed by their first dance as newlyweds – an emotional moment that set the tone for the night.
Music was provided by Unity Events DJ, who kept the dancefloor buzzing throughout the evening. Upstairs on the mezzanine, the Giggling Genie 360 photobooth created fun and laughter, capturing lighthearted moments that guests will remember fondly.
A generous hog roast buffet was served at 8:00 PM, offering hearty food to refuel partygoers well into the night. As always, dietary requirements were carefully considered, with vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options available.
The evening bar kept spirits high, and music and festivities continued until midnight.
As midnight approached, guests began to drift back to their accommodations on-site. For many, the celebrations continued into the morning with a group breakfast at 10:15 AM, reflecting on the joy of the previous day.
Lauren and Alex’s wedding at Blackstock Estate was a heartfelt, carefully crafted day full of genuine connection, effortless style, and countryside magic – a true reflection of the couple and everything they envisioned.
