What to Do the Week Before Your Wedding to Stay Organised

The week before your wedding tends to arrive faster than expected. The planning you’ve been doing for months suddenly feels very close, and it’s easy for the final few days to become more frantic than they need to be. The good news is that with a bit of structure, you can use this time well and actually arrive at your wedding day feeling ready rather than worn out. Here’s a practical rundown of what to focus on.

Confirm Everything With Your Suppliers

One of the most important things to do in the days leading up to your wedding is to contact every supplier you’ve booked and check the details are still correct. This means your florist, photographer, hair and makeup, band or DJ, and anyone else involved in the day. Make sure they have the right arrival time, the correct address, and a phone number for someone on-site they can reach if needed. Things can change in the months between booking and your wedding date, so a quick check-in now is always worth it.

Your wedding coordinator at Blackstock Country Estate will also be in touch with you during this period to go over the details of your day. This is a good opportunity to run through timings, flag any changes, and make sure everything is properly aligned before the day itself.

Chase Any Outstanding RSVPs

If there are still guests who haven’t confirmed whether they’re coming, now is the time to follow up. Accurate numbers matter for catering and seating arrangements, so the sooner you have a final headcount the better. If someone is no longer able to attend, let your coordinator know as quickly as possible so any necessary adjustments can be made without any last-minute stress.

Finalise Your Seating Plan

If your seating plan isn’t finished yet, this needs to be sorted the week before your wedding. Go through your guest list together and make sure everyone has a seat that makes sense, think about family dynamics, friendships, and where any children are sitting. Once you’re happy with it, send the final version to the team at Blackstock Country Estate so The Granary can be set up exactly as you’ve planned.

Sort Outstanding Payments and Tips

It’s easy to overlook in the lead-up to the day, but it’s worth going through your supplier list and checking whether any final balances are due. If you’re planning to leave tips, prepare envelopes in advance and hand them to a trusted person, your best man or maid of honour, so you’re not dealing with it yourself on the day when you’d rather be enjoying the celebrations.

Pack Your Bridal Suite Bag

The Bridal Suite at Blackstock Country Estate is where the morning of your wedding comes together, getting ready, spending time with your closest people, and those quiet moments before the ceremony. Pack a bag for this space well ahead of time so the morning itself is relaxed. Include your dress or suit, all accessories, shoes, any gifts for the wedding party, touch-up makeup, snacks, a phone charger, and anything else personal that matters to you.

If you’re staying on the estate the night before, you can take your time getting everything into the Bridal Suite without the added pressure of a morning rush. The week before your wedding is the right time to get this bag ready and tick it off your list.

Delegate the Day-of Jobs

Sit down and make sure the people around you know exactly what they’re responsible for on the day. Who is collecting the buttonholes? Who has the rings? Who is responsible for getting the group across to the Tudor Barn on time? Write it all down, pass it on to the relevant people, and let go of it. You’ve done the planning, your job now is to trust the people around you and be present on the day.

Take Care of Yourselves

It sounds obvious, but the week before your wedding is worth protecting. Try to sleep properly, eat well, and avoid filling every evening with social commitments. Ideally, hen and stag dos will already be done and dusted well before this point. The days immediately before your wedding are valuable, use them to feel rested.

If you’re staying on the estate the night before, Blackstock Country Estate has several accommodation options on-site, including the Farmhouse, the Flint Cottage, the Tudor Cottage, and the Goat Shed. Spending the night before your wedding here with close family or friends means you can wake up on the estate, take your time, and start the day without the added stress of travelling in.

Go Through the Full Day Timeline With Your Coordinator

Before the week is out, make sure you have a final conversation with your wedding coordinator at Blackstock Country Estate. Walk through the full day from start to finish, ceremony in the Tudor Barn, drinks reception, wedding breakfast in The Granary, speeches, and the evening. Ask any remaining questions and make sure you feel clear and confident about how the day will run. This is often one of the most reassuring conversations in the whole planning process, because it’s the point at which you hand the detail over to a team who have done this many times before.
