Emily arrived early at 9:00 am to begin her preparations in the venue’s Bridal Suite. She and her bridal party enjoyed a relaxed breakfast of pastries, all served with careful attention to allergies and dietary needs. The atmosphere was peaceful and joyful as Lauren Harper at Francis Clinic applied Emily’s makeup and Daisy Barr at The Hair Hive styled her hair, setting the tone for a flawless summer wedding at Blackstock Estate.
Guests were welcomed to the Tudor Barn at 1:00 pm, where a Spotify playlist provided the perfect backdrop to a romantic ceremony. At 2:00 pm, Emily walked down the aisle with her father, Gary, surrounded by floral touches and natural light. The couple exchanged vows in front of loved ones in a ceremony that was intimate and genuine, reflecting the spirit of their summer wedding at Blackstock Estate.
After the ceremony, the newlyweds and their guests enjoyed a drinks reception on the grounds. A mix of Pimms, prosecco, and sparkling elderflower was served alongside buckets of beers and fresh orange juice. Canapés included mini fish and chips, beef sliders, and vegetarian spring rolls, providing a stylish and satisfying start to the afternoon. The Blackstock buggy was made available for scenic photos of the couple, capturing the essence of a countryside celebration.
At 4:00pm, guests moved into the Granary Barn for a three-course wedding breakfast. With rustic charm and refined styling, the space was ideal for the occasion. The bride’s sister introduced the newlyweds to the upbeat sound of ABBA’s “Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!”, kicking off the meal with fun and flair. Guests enjoyed chorizo scotch eggs, slow-roasted pork belly, and passionfruit posset, with vegetarian and allergen-friendly alternatives thoughtfully provided.
Speeches were delivered after the meal, with heartfelt words from the father of the bride, the groom, and the best man. Tea, coffee, and mints closed the meal while guests prepared for the evening celebration.
As 36 additional guests arrived for the evening, the Tudor Barn transformed into a lively party setting. Emily and Jonny cut their cake before sharing their first dance. A DJ from Unlimited Promotions kept the dancefloor busy, while a hog roast buffet and a nostalgic sweet cart from Sweet Dreams Candy added indulgent charm to the night. A photo booth captured fun moments throughout the evening.
The couple and their close friends stayed onsite in the venue’s cosy cottage accommodation, including the Goat Shed and Tudor Cottage. With a peaceful breakfast served the next morning, their summer wedding at Blackstock Estate ended just as it began – full of warmth, thoughtfulness, and the beauty of the Sussex countryside.
