Chelsea and Tony’s summer twilight wedding took place at the beginning of June at Blackstock Country Estate, surrounded by friends, family, and stunning Sussex views. From their first arrival on-site to the final dance, the day was filled with relaxed celebration, thoughtful details, and great entertainment. Choosing a twilight ceremony meant they could enjoy the best of the afternoon light and roll seamlessly into an evening of music and dancing, all in one beautiful setting. It was a day that truly reflected the couple: warm, laid-back, and full of love.

The morning began with Chelsea arriving at the bridal suite at 11am to get ready. She had the space to herself, allowing plenty of time to relax and enjoy the build-up to the day ahead. Her hair and makeup were handled by her trusted team, Lauren from Lolly Locks and Nancy from Faces by Nancy, who helped create a calm and enjoyable atmosphere. Meanwhile, Tony arrived later in the afternoon and checked into the Tudor Cottage at 2pm. He took some time to unwind and get changed, with the peaceful surroundings of the estate offering the perfect setting to gather his thoughts before the ceremony.
Guests began arriving at 3pm to a warm welcome and drinks from the bar. Background music played softly in the Tudor Barn as everyone took their seats for the ceremony. At 4pm, the twilight wedding officially began with a live string quartet playing from the alcove. Before Chelsea’s entrance, two personal messages from their children were played to Tony, creating an emotional and heartfelt start to the service. It was a small but powerful moment that meant a lot to both of them.
After the ceremony, Chelsea and Tony stepped outside with their guests to enjoy their reception drinks, Pimms for Chelsea and a bottle of beer for Tony. The string quartet continued playing through the reception, and canapés were served shortly after. The couple also had use of the Blackstock buggy for photos around the grounds, weather permitting, making the most of the late afternoon light.
At 6pm, speeches took place followed by the cake cutting. Chelsea had brought a chocolate naked cake from M&S, which was shared out among the guests. The cake table was decorated simply, with a rustic wooden stand provided by Blackstock Country Estate.
In memory of Tony’s father, the couple placed two bottles of brandy on a barrel near the entrance, alongside a framed photo. Guests were invited to help themselves throughout the day and raise a glass to someone very special. It was a quiet, personal touch that many appreciated.
Evening guests began to arrive from 7pm and were welcomed by music and the inviting smell of the evening buffet. The food featured a classic hog roast served in soft buns with stuffing, apple sauce, and crisp crackling. Alternatives were available for vegetarian, coeliac, and other dietary needs, ensuring everyone was well looked after. As part of this summer twilight wedding, the buffet stayed open for two hours, allowing guests to eat at their own pace, chat, and enjoy the evening before the dancing got underway.
The entertainment picked up quickly once the band, Princes of Motown, took to the stage. Their first set began at 8pm, including a live performance of Chelsea and Tony’s first dance, a standout moment of their summer twilight wedding. DJ Dan Lawson kept things going during the band’s break, making sure the dancefloor stayed full all night.
Guests also enjoyed the photobooth by Tony Brinnand and lawn games from For Love & Props, plus a crisp wall next to the wine fridge in the bar area, which added a fun and light-hearted touch. The décor was handled by Joanna from Inspiration Decor, with flowers by Lucinda Watts from Flower Alchemist, tying everything together beautifully and adding even more charm.
Chelsea and Tony’s twilight wedding was full of joy, great music, and meaningful moments. From the personal ceremony to the evening celebrations, every part of the day flowed naturally and felt true to them.
