Sarah & Alex – 15th July 2022

Sarah & Alex’s Ceremony and Reception at Blackstock Country Estate

This wedding was great fun and felt extremely special for everyone involved. Working with Sarah & Alex to build their dream event was an absolute joy. This is how their special day went…

Sarah & Alex hit the sweet spot regarding the number of guests they had joining them. They had everyone they wanted present but also had less crowded moments, giving a more intimate feel to the day overall. Everything seemed to fall into place perfectly on the big day. You can tell from the fantastic pictures, courtesy of Nicki Shea, that it was a lovely day to get married.

The Bride and Groom had exclusive access to both the Tudor Barn and the Granary, which helped things run exceptionally smoothly.

The Bridal Room

Sarah chose to take full advantage of our onsite bridal room to prepare herself for the day ahead. She opted for a delicious continental breakfast to be delivered to the room for herself and her bridesmaids.

The bride, mums, as well as bridesmaids and any other chosen guests can have their hair and makeup done here if required. Being on-site also means once you are ready, you can change, relax and don’t need to travel anywhere. Using our fabulous bridal room allows everyone to get ready together and helps to kick start the day with excitement.

Alex arrived a few hours later after getting ready at home.

The Main Event!

The Guests of the Bride and Groom arrived around 1 pm for a 2 pm ceremony.

Everyone looked amazing. Alex looked sophisticated in his navy suit, light blue waistcoat, and pale yellow accents. Sarah looked stunning. Her gorgeous white bridal gown really stole the show. It’s safe to say they pulled all the stops out for their big day!

Their heart-touching ceremony took place in our Tudor Barn. The barn had been decorated beautifully on the day; it had an authentic magical charm about it. Sarah and Alex, with a little bit of help from our team, did an excellent job of detailing our old barn. There were subtle fairy lights and green vines running up and around the rustic support beams, which helped create a really cosy atmosphere.

After the ceremony…

After the ceremony, all the guests were invited outside to enjoy some canapes and drinks whilst they mingled, laughed and chatted about the ceremony.

In the meantime, the newlyweds enjoyed some time together and took part in a wonderful photoshoot with Nicki. Sarah and Alex explored our picturesque grounds and got some absolutely lovely photos. We believe this is one of the most valuable ways to spend some time on your wedding day. Finally getting a chance to slip away from the crowd and have some alone time with your new partner is a wonderfully intimate moment, plus some fabulous photos and memories are created..

Once the Bride and Groom finished their shoot, everyone ventured into the Granary and were seated in preparation for their meal.

The Menu

Everyone was seated for the wedding breakfast and best man Ruben announced Mr & Mrs Mallalieu for the first time. The happy couple did an excellent job of deciding on a menu that looked and tasted great; it was thoroughly enjoyed by all!

Roquefort and Shallot Tartlet served warm with baby leaves and balsamic glaze

Feather blade of Beef, in a red wine jus, served with roasted red onion and truffle mash

French Lemon Tart served with a lemon drizzle

The Evening!

Once everyone had finished their meal and enjoyed the last of the three heartfelt speeches, the Tudor Barn was once again filled for an evening of celebration, fun and dancing!

Sarah and Alex cut their wedding cake which was followed romantically by their first dance, performed by a live band. It was an intimate moment for the couple that will remain with everyone present for a long time.

The band played deep into the night, keeping the celebrations going strong. When things finally came to a close the newlyweds made the short walk to the Goat Shed, their luxury accommodation for the night. The small cottage gave Sarah and Alex some time to live in the moment and properly digest what happened during the day, together and as a couple. All of our on-site accommodation was booked for friends and family, making the journey back to their beds as easy as possible.

We enjoyed working with both Sarah and Alex and send them our very best wishes for their happily ever after.
