With over 70 acres of picturesque grounds including meadows, lakes, and the Cuckmere River, Blackstock has tonnes to offer you for your perfect private wedding day. With a view of the Weald and the South Downs National Park, you are truly spoiled for choice for your wedding photographs! Guests will also have the opportunity to explore and enjoy our grounds and facilities. These include beautiful walks around our East Sussex wedding venue and the lakes, down to the river, boasting rainbow and brown trout, that meanders through the valley. Additionally, all grounds are based at the back of our two barns, so no need to come back out to the front of the buildings, once you’re in, making it truly private.

Not only are we the perfect Private Wedding Venue in Sussex for your reception, we also have a license to hold wedding ceremonies of up to 120 guests. On top of this, we also have beautiful accommodation for you and your guests to stay in, making it an all inclusive day. You won’t have the stress of moving around, and instead, you’ll be able to breathe in the South Downs air and take in all of your special day.
If you would prefer to get married somewhere else, and perhaps just have your reception and accommodation here, we are conveniently close to the church of St. Peter and St. Paul, so you still don’t have to worry so much about moving everyone to and from different places.

Our first barn is The Tudor Barn, which is a 500 year old building, maintained at an exceptionally high standard, with ancient traditional frames and structures, mixed with modern finishing. It also has an attractive, fully refurbished minstrel’s gallery above the bar, a highly unusual and interesting feature. The bar is very large and oak finished, serving a range of beers, spirits and wines. Lit with large chandeliers, made from genuine antique cartwheels, you’ll find a rustic ambience, beautiful in pictures. The ceremony wing of the Tudor also features air conditioning for those hot summer days.
Our second converted barn is the beautiful Granary, boasting a wealth of rustic features, including a sandstone floor and exposed beam vaulted ceiling. Views of the grounds can be seen through the floor to ceiling glazed barn windows.
If you have your heart set on a specific venue for your ceremony but are looking for a magical place to spend the rest of your day then we offer a reception-only option. This includes in-house catering, an open bar and access to our barns, patio areas and beautiful grounds. We have lots of people who choose to just have their wedding reception with us, even if they have been married at another venue.
We are fortunate enough to have plenty of luxurious accommodation within walking distance.
