This wedding felt particularly special. Working with Lauren and Dave was an absolute joy. Despite Covid making things as difficult as possible at times, their special day was truly wonderful. This is how it went…
Lauren and Dave both wanted a medium-sized wedding. This meant that everyone they wanted to be present was, whilst not allowing things to become too crowded or lose the precious intimacy of the day. It was a lovely day to get married and it really shows in the pictures. Everything seemed to fall into place perfectly for the happy couple on their day.
The Bride and Groom had exclusive access to both the Tudor Barn and the Granary, which helped things run exceptionally smoothly.
Lauren chose to take full advantage of our onsite bridal room to prepare herself for the day ahead. She opted to have a delicious continental breakfast delivered to her door.
The bride, mums, as well as bridesmaids and any other chosen guests can have their hair and makeup done here if required. Being on-site also means once you are ready, you can change, relax and don’t need to travel anywhere. Using our fabulous Bridal Room gives everyone the opportunity to get ready together and really helps to kick start the day with excitement.
Dave arrived at the same time and used the Bridal Suite to get ready.
The Bride and Groom’s guests began arriving around 12:30 for a 1:30 ceremony in our Tudor Barn.
Everyone was dressed stunningly. Dave sported a sophisticated navy suit with a light pink tie and a beautiful boutonnière. Lauren looked gorgeous. Her stunning white bridal gown was flowy and immaculate. All the stops were pulled out; they both seriously looked the part!
Their emotional ceremony took place in our beautiful Tudor Barn. The barn had a real charm about it on the big day. Lauren and Dave, with a bit of help from our amazing team, did an excellent job of decorating and detailing our old barn. There were subtle white fairy lights and flower details running up and around the rustic support beams, it was a truly magical sight to behold.
After the ceremony, all the guests were entertained by the wonderful magician Alexander James doing close-up tricks. With the guests occupied, the newlyweds explored our impressive grounds and enjoyed taking part in some intimate and lovely photographs; taking full advantage of our fabulous Sussex countryside views.
Once the Bride and Groom had finished their photoshoot, everyone ventured into the Granary and were seated in preparation for their meal.
Everyone was seated for the wedding breakfast and cheered for the announcement of the newly married Mr and Mrs Bennett. It truly was a joy-filled moment for everybody.
Lauren and Dave chose a lovely three-course meal that was thoroughly enjoyed by all; they even included a second and third menu for the vegetarians and children:
Chicken caesar croquettes, crispy pancetta, romaine lettuce and spinach puree
Slow cooked marinated pork belly, fondant apple, wholegrain mustard mash, fine green beans and cider jus
Summer trio of delights, strawberry pavlova, lemon tart and triple chocolate brownie
It looked absolutely fantastic!
Once everyone had finished their meals and enjoyed the last of the heartfelt speeches, everybody was moved back into the Tudor Barn. The bar was fully stocked in preparation for the return. Whilst in the barn the happy couple cut each layer of their cake and shared it with their guests.
At around 7 pm the Tudor Barn was once again filled for an evening of celebration! The couple shared their first dance in a tear-jerky display of love.
Once the fun and dancing had concluded the newlyweds made their way over to The Goat Shed, their luxury accommodation for the night. The small cottage gave the happy couple some time to be away from it all and really live in the moment, together as a couple. All of our on-site accommodation was booked for family and friends, making the journey back to their beds as easy as possible.
We really enjoyed working with both Lauren & Dave and we wish them both our very best wishes for their happily ever after
“We had the most perfect day at Blackstock, we couldn’t have asked for a better. From the beginning, Blackstock has gone above and beyond with their support and helpfulness. We had to postpone multiple times due to Covid and the team was great at rearranging and making everything as effortless as possible in such a difficult time for everyone.
The day itself felt so relaxed and put together and we can put that down to the team on the day for being so organised and professional. The food was absolutely amazing, we are still having guests talking to us about it 5 days later. Not a single thing could be faulted. Thank you to everyone who was there on the day to make our wedding so special, from the management team, the day coordinator, the chefs and the event staff, thank you all so much, we are forever grateful.”
From start to finish, our team will help you every step of the way in planning your dream wedding. We take pride in creating magical days for all our couples, making fabulous memories that will last a lifetime.
We would love to hear from you so please feel free to get in touch.
Big thanks to Lily Lane Photography for capturing all the breathtaking shots we include in this blog x
