Kirsty & Callum’s wedding was a dream come true. Working with this couple during the initial planning stages was a true joy. The team at Blackstock Estate helped to create a magical and intimate celebration that we hope the couple will cherish for a lifetime. Let’s take a closer look as we walk you through Kirsty & Callum’s wedding at Blackstock Country Estate.
Their ceremony and reception both took place at Blackstock Country Estate. The happy couple had exclusive access to both the Granary and Tudor Barn on their special day, ensuring everything ran smoothly. Our venue was perfect for their numbers, with 85 of their closest friends and family members present for the ceremony, and an additional 11 guests joining in the evening celebrations.
Kirsty & Callum’s day was held in mid-August of 2022. The weather was perfect. The couple had exclusive access to both the Granary and our Tudor Barn, whcih all couples get to enjoy. This ensured that their day ran smoothly and that our team could work in the background to create a seamless experience for all.
The couple had a total of 85 day guests joining them, which our venue has no problem holding. We did our very best to accommodate all of Kirsty and Callum’s closest friends and relatives as, understandably, they wanted to be surrounded by loved ones on such a significant day.
Kirsty took full advantage of our on-site bridal suite and makeup room to prepare herself for the wonderful day ahead. The bride, mums, bridesmaids, as well as any other chosen guests, can have their hair and makeup done here if required. Being on-site also means once you are ready, you can change and relax without the need to travel anywhere. Using our fabulous bridal room allows everyone to get ready together and helps to kick-start the day with excitement. All whilst enjoying perhaps a few bubbles as well as a continental breakfast, or such like.
Callum arrived at around midday after getting ready at home with his groomsmen.
The couple’s ceremony took place in our Tudor Barn, which was a stunning backdrop for such a magical moment. Callum looked handsome and dignified in his traditional Scottish kilt. The kilt was made of fine, plaid wool and Callum wore his sporran with pride. The same look was sported by his three boys, who all look equally as sharp.
Kirsty looked breathtaking in her gorgeous white bridal gown. She opted for the subtle use of warm tones on her cheeks and lips giving her a delicate appearance. Her hair was elegantly styled in a neat updo with strands framing her face, adding a touch of softness to her overall look.
The barn was decorated with a white aisle runner which matched the details on our Chiavari chairs. The rustic support beams of the barn were adorned with fairy lights and wrapping ivy. Overall the decor theme created an atmosphere that matched the couple perfectly and added a touch of grace to their day.
After the ceremony, all their guests were offered a selection of canapes whilst the newly wedded bride and groom spent some time away from the crowds and partook in a photoshoot. The chance to slip away and spend some time together is so key, and all these moments were captured on camera, making reminiscing so much better. Friend of Blackstock, John Scofield, captured the wonderful images.
They took full advantage of all the picturesque views and beautiful spots the Estate has a wealth of. Their photos came out wonderfully and we hope the couple will use them to look back on their day fondly.
Once the couple returned, everyone was seated in the Granary in preparation for the wedding breakfast. As Kirsty and Callum entered the room the Blackstock Toastmaster introduced Mr & Mrs McFayden for the very first time.
The happy couple did an excellent job of deciding a menu, it looked and tasted great; all thoroughly enjoyed. Here is what our in-house catering team produced:
Chicken Caeser Croquettes
Crispy Pancetta, Romaine Lettuce and Spinach Pureé
Duo of Beef
Fillet of Beef, Brisket Bon Bon, Caramelised Onion Mash, Roasted Yellow Beetroot and Wild Mushroom Cream Sauce
Summer Trio of Delights
Strawberry Pavlova, Lemon Tart and Blueberry Financier
After the meal and heartfelt speeches, everyone was invited back into our Tudor Barn, where a fully stocked bar awaited. When everyone returned the tables had been removed and the reception could begin! The newlyweds took their first dance as a married couple and kickstarted an evening of fun and celebration!
