Apart from us being a fabulous wedding venue, Kelsie and Dan also chose Blackstock Estate for the beautiful Sussex rolling hills and the luxury on-site accommodation. They opted for a Saturday wedding which worked wonderfully for them; even the weather was on their side. They both decided upon a smaller more intimate ceremony with more guests arriving later into the evening.
Kelsie and Dan booked all of our luxury accommodation on the day, which made everything run more smoothly for them. Being on-site means that there is much less hassle and unnecessary stress for the bride and groom on their big day. Kelsie and Dan took the incredible Tudor Cottage for themselves as well as the Goat Shed, Three Bed Cottage and the Blackstock house for close friends and family. Our charming on-site accommodation can hold almost 30 people and Kelsie and Dan took full advantage of this.
Kelsie and her bridesmaids had a ball in our marvellous makeup room. This is truly a perfect start to a magical day. It does an excellent job of building up the excitement for those involved.
Our bridal room is available to any of the guests who want to relax and have fun before the event, as well as having their hair and makeup done on the big day. Plus, with it being on-site there’s no hassle of travelling about – bliss!
Dan arrived slightly later at 12:00 where he and his groomsmen took over the lounge to get ready.
Emotions were high as Kelsie walked down the aisle of our Tudor Barn. She looked stunning in her gorgeous wedding dress. Dan looked extremely sophisticated in his well fitted, grey 3 piece suit.
The ceremony was fabulous; our Tudor Barn had never looked so good. Beautiful white flowers and fairy lights were draped from the rustic support beams creating a magical scene that was enjoyed by all.
Some amazing photographs were taken by Jess F throughout; everyone looked gorgeous!
After the ceremony, the newlyweds disappeared off to get some truly beautiful pictures taken. We believe that this is one of the most important parts of your wedding day. You finally get the chance to slip away from the crowd and have some really special time alone with your new spouse. What’s more is that all of these happy moments are caught on camera and captured forever in photographs.
Meanwhile, the guests were all served a selection of beautiful canapes and drinks whilst they waited, mingled, laughed and chatted about the day.
Once the happy couple had finished their photoshoot and enjoyed some canapes with their guests, everyone was invited in and seated in the Granary.
Kelsie and Dan chose a lovely three-course meal that was enjoyed thoroughly by all:
MELTED BAKED CAMEMBERT, infused with rosemary, thyme and garlic, served with a plum and apple chutney, baby leaves and ciabatta
FEATHERBLADE OF BEEF, in a red wine jus, served with confit garlic, roasted red onion and truffle mash
LEMON POSSET, served with fresh berries and shortbread biscuit
Once the meal and wonderful speeches had been delivered, everyone moved back to the Tudor Barn where the DJ played into the night.
Kelsie and Dan enjoyed their first dance surrounded by the people they love most – it was truly a beautiful moment.
The celebrations carried late into the night with a buffet of traditional smoked bacon rolls, in soft baps with ketchup and brown sauce.
At around midnight all the guests left and Kelsie & Dan returned to our wonderful Tudor Cottage for the night.
We really loved working with them both and we send them our very best wishes for their happily ever after.
