Kathryn & Russell chose to celebrate their special day with us on the 15th of July 2023. Blackstock Estates’ two barns and breathtaking surroundings served as a picturesque backdrop for their unforgettable occasion. Here’s a glimpse into how their day unfolded and some of the beautiful moments they shared.
Kathryn and her bridal party excitedly arrived bright and early to make the most of our onsite bridal suite and makeup room. The group of bubbly girls filled the room with laughter and smiles as they prepared for the big day ahead.
Our space added a generous dose of excitement to their day and created great energy among the bridal party. The convenience of having everything onsite meant that once everyone was ready, we could crack open a bottle of bubbly and relax. The icing on the cake was the delectable pastries and fresh fruit, prepared by our in-house catering team.
It was clear that every detail had been accounted for during Kathryn and Russell’s ceremony. The traditional theme of white was clear throughout the entire day, from Kathryn’s bouquet to her stunning bridal gown and the decorative flowers hung in the barn. It was evident that the couple had a clear vision of the atmosphere they wished to achieve, and they executed it brilliantly!
Russell looked every bit the dashing groom as he awaited Kathryn’s arrival at the end of the aisle. The heartfelt vows exchanged during the emotional ceremony brought tears of joy to the eyes of their cherished friends and family – there wasn’t a dry eye in the room!
Following the ceremony, the newlyweds stole a moment away from the bustling crowds for a private photoshoot with the talented photographer, Andy Kerr. While their guests enjoyed canapés and drinks courtesy of the in-house catering team, Kerr skillfully captured some truly lovely moments of the couple.
We consider this to be a truly pivotal moment, and we encourage all our couples to savour it. Those few minutes alone with your newlywed spouse are truly precious, as the rest of the day can sometimes blur in the midst of all the activity – savour the moment!
After the photoshoot, Kathryn and Russell rejoined their guests for a delectable meal prepared by our dedicated catering team. As Mr. and Mrs. Marriner were announced, their guests erupted in applause, setting the perfect tone for the meal ahead.
The Blackstock Catering Team served up a scrumptious BBQ buffet that delighted all in attendance. It’s safe to say that the couple knew exactly how to please their guests. Here’s a glimpse of the culinary delights they enjoyed:
TANDOORI CHICKEN SALAD, Tender chicken breast with traditional Tandoori flavours, served on a bed of iceberg, white cabbage and scallions salad, with mango and mint yoghurt
SOUTHDOWN LAMB SHANK, slow-cooked in red wine, garlic and rosemary, served on creamy crushed new potatoes
STRAWBERRIES AND CREAM SHORTCAKE, with a light Chantilly cream and plump English strawberries, served on a pool of strawberry syrup
As the sun dipped below the horizon, the evening reception commenced. Kathryn and Russell cut their “almost-too-beautiful-to-eat” wedding cake and shared a romantic first dance as a married couple. The DJ curated a playlist that kept the celebrations alive well into the night. To keep their guests content, an evening buffet featuring traditional bacon rolls was served, much to everyone’s delight. It was a magical evening that stretched late into the night, and it seemed that everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
After the DJ played the final song and brought the night to a close, Kathryn and Russell took a short stroll to The Tudor Shed, their on-site accommodation for the night. This wrapped up their perfect day and spared them and their guests any unnecessary travel.
