Your wedding day is one of the most significant and memorable days of your life. While many dream of sunny skies and warm weather, an overly hot day can bring its own set of challenges. We have offered you our advice on dealing with the rain so here are some tips how to deal with the heat on your wedding day.
The best part of choosing our venue in scorching heat is our indoor areas are always kept super cool so you and your guest are comfortable throughout the day. This way if you choose to have your wedding indoors you can be assured the venue will be cool and refreshing for you.
If you prefer an outdoor wedding, you can choose to have marquees and tents to keep everyone out of the heat, because of our large barn there is some significant shade to enjoy near our terrace so you can enjoy some shade and indulge a refreshing beverage, such as Pimms.
If the weather is set to reach the high 20s it might be wise to think about having your ceremony on the cooler parts of the day, either in the morning or later in the afternoon to avoid the midday heat. Timing it perfectly can be tricky so our wonderful wedding coordinators are here to help. And if you are set on a midday day wedding when it’s hottest we can accommodate to that and figure out the best ways to still keep you and your guests cool.
Choose wedding attire made from lightweight, breathable fabrics. Consider linen or cotton for a more comfortable experience. Brides might opt for a lighter gown, and grooms can consider ditching the jacket for a vest.
Hot weather can make feet swell, so ensure you have comfortable footwear. Brides might consider elegant sandals or even barefoot options if appropriate for the setting.
Set up hydration stations with plenty of water, iced tea, or lemonade. Consider adding some infused water with cucumber, mint, or citrus for a refreshing twist.
Ensure the bridal party stays hydrated. Provide them with personalized water bottles to keep with them throughout the day.
Offer handheld fans or parasols to guests as they arrive. These can be both functional and stylish, doubling as keepsakes from your wedding.
Provide cooling towels or misting fans for guests. These small touches can significantly enhance their comfort.
Serve light and refreshing foods that won’t weigh guests down. Think salads, fruit platters, and chilled soups.
Consider having a frozen treat station with ice cream, popsicles, or a snow cone machine. This can be a fun and delicious way to cool down.
Opt for long-lasting, heat-resistant makeup. Consult with your makeup artist about the best products for staying fresh in hot weather.
Consider an updo or partially up hairstyle to keep hair off your neck and reduce sweating. This can also help your hair stay styled longer.
