In October this year, we had the absolute pleasure of hosting Holly & Dan’s wedding. The team here at Blackstock Estate helped the couple every step of their journey. From the initial planning stages all the way through to the big day, we were always just a phone call away. We had so much fun with this couple and together we created the most magical of days.
Holly & Dan’s wedding was most definitely a beautiful day. It had an incredibly magical and intimate energy that was relaxed and loved by everyone who were lucky enough to share it with them.
They decided to share their day with 62 of their closest friends and family members. Additionally, they invited a further 50 guests to partake in the evening celebrations! These numbers worked excellently for our venue and also the couple. It allowed everyone they wanted to be present without crowding their ceremony or disrupting the atmosphere.
The happy couple had exclusive access to both our Granary and Tudor Barn on the day. This ensured everything ran smoothly.
Holly opted to take full advantage of our on-site bridal suite and makeup room to prepare herself for the wonderful day ahead.
The bride, mums, bridesmaids, as well as any other chosen guests can have their hair and makeup done here if required. Being on-site also means once you are ready, you can change, relax, have a drink or too as well as a continental breakfast. Plus the best thing is you don’t need to travel anywhere. Using our fabulous bridal room allows everyone to get ready together and helps to really kick-start the day with excitement.
Dan arrived after preparing himself at home.
The ceremony was like something out of a fairytale. Holly looked stunning in her gorgeous white bridal gown. Despite Dan clearly pulling out all the stops and looking so sophisticated in his grey-tailored suit, everyone would agree she stole the show.
The ceremony took place in our wonderful Tudor Barn, which looked fantastic for their ceremony. There was most definitely a theme of white on the day. From the beautiful flower details hanging from the rustic support beams all the way down to the aisle runner and Chiavari chair decor. It really created an atmosphere of purity and grace.
After the ceremony, all their guests were offered a selection of canapes whilst the newly wedded bride and groom spent some time away from the crowds and partook in a photoshoot. We think this is one of the most special moments of your day. Immediately after getting married, to sneak away and share a private moment with that one special person makes the day so much more special and intimate!
As a couple, your wedding will feel like a dream. Getting the chance to slip away and spend some time together is so key. Plus all these moments are caught on camera which makes reminiscing so much better. These photographs were taken by N Davies Photography.
Once the Holly & Dan returned, everyone was seated in the Granary in preparation for the wedding breakfast. Jodie, Holly’s bridesmaid and best friend, announced Mr & Mrs Dorian-Ward into the room for the first time. The couple were met with a wave of applause and cheers. The happy couple did an excellent job of deciding on a menu that looked and tasted great; all thoroughly enjoyed it!
TANDOORI CHICKEN SALAD, Tender chicken breast with traditional Tandoori flavours, served on a bed of iceberg, white cabbage and scallions salad, with mango and mint yoghurt
TRADITIONAL ROAST BEEF, medium rare beef served with roasted garlic, thyme potatoes Yorkshire puddings and succulent pan jus.
WARM STICKY TOFFEE PUDDING, smothered with a rich caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream
Once everyone had finished their meals and listened, laughed and cried to the heartfelt speeches they were invited back into our Tudor Barn. A fully stocked bar was waiting in anticipation for the celebrations to carry deep into the night.
The rest of the evening guests arrived and were present to witness the newlyweds cut their cake, which was followed romantically by their first dance as a married couple. It was an extraordinarily intimate moment for the couple and one everyone there should feel privileged to have seen.
When things finally came to a close, the newlyweds made the short walk to the Goat Shed, their luxury accommodation for the night. The small cottage gave Holly and Dan the opportunity to properly digest what happened during the day, together as a newly married couple.
We have a wide range of on-site accommodation that can be booked for any friends and family, making the journey back to their beds as easy as possible.
