Holly & Alex’s day at Blackstock Country Estate was a joyful one. It was an extremely magical day, one that will be cherished by us and the couple alike. They opted for a smaller wedding, with 55 day guests arriving. This was a conscious decision by the couple and made their day feel that much more intimate and close. They opted to share their special day with us on a Sunday, which worked wonderfully for them and their guests.
Holly and her bridesmaids took full advantage of our on site Bridal suite to prepare herself for the grand day ahead. Holly selected our continental breakfast, which they all thoroughly enjoyed. Alex, arrived slightly later, around midday, then got himself ready with his best man and ushers in our three-bed cottage.
The close friends and family of the couple arrived at around 12:30. Whilst the guests mingled amongst themselves, the Blackstock team ensured everything behind the scenes was going to run smoothly for the ceremony.
Alex sported a dashing chequered light grey suit, with striking orange accents, which matched perfectly with the decor, as well as Holly’s bouquet. His bride was walked down the aisle by her brother in an extremely touching moment. Holly looked extremely elegant in her stunning wedding gown. The pair looked fantastic and did an excellent job of decorating the Tudor bar, which looked exceptional.
As mentioned, the ceremony took place in a wing of the Tudor Barn. There was a very autumnal feel about the wedding and, with it taking place in October last year, seemed extremely fitting. There were subtle fairy lights wrapped around the rustic support beams of the barn. The couple made an excellent choice in suggesting hanging beautiful bouquets in the corners of the space. Our chiavari chairs were stylishly accented with deep orange ribbons, this really did tie the bow on the Autumn feels.
After the ceremony, all the guests were invited to partake in some outdoor photographs. Everyone was in excellent spirits as they gathered around for photos. During this time, the newly wedded couple also got to spend some time alone. We, believe this is a key part of any wedding. Even if it’s just a few minutes, the privilege to spend some one-on-one time with the person you just married is an incredibly great one, that should be cherished. It gives you and your partner the opportunity to share a once in a lifetime experience together. What’s better is that these moments are captured on film!
Our thanks to Photographer Kloe May for capturing all the amazing shots we’ve used in this blog.
Whilst the Bride and Groom were spending this quality time together, the guests were completely occupied with a delicious arrangement of canapés and a healthily stocked bar. The canapés went down an absolute treat, but we were sure to save some for the happy couple once they returned from their shoot. Once the happy couple had spent time with friends and family, everyone was invited into the Granary and were seated in preparation for their meal.
Once everyone was seated, best man Keenan announced to the room, for the first time, Mr & Mrs Norgett. The couple were met with a sea of applause, as well as a few happy tears when they walked into the room.
The couples did an outstanding job of choosing a menu that not only look amazing, but tasted even better! There were some great options and it was thoroughly enjoyed by all!
Cherry tomato focaccia topped with pesto and brie
Mini Chicken skewers, mild peri-peri glaze
Parmesan crumbed chicken supreme stuffed with mozzarella, dauphinoise potatoes (instead of roasted garlic mash), fine beans and tomato oregano sauce
Tempura Tofu, Falafel cake, roasted Provençal vegetables and rocket pesto sauce
Raspberry Cheesecake, lemon curd and ginger crumbs
Once everyone had finished their meals, some extremely heartfelt speeches were made. Many of which turned on the waterworks once again for some guests, for all the right reasons!
The Tudor Barn was filled once again for an evening of fun and celebration!
Holly and Alex, cut their wedding cake, which was followed romantically by their first dance as a married couple. It was a really intimate moment for the couple and one that will remain in the memories of everyone present.
As the evening celebrations carried on deep into the night, the couple had arranged for an evening buffet of bacon rolls, a personal favourite of the couples, to be served. This gave everyone that much-needed boost as it was time to hit the dance floor. The Bride and Grooms nearest and dearest flooded the floor to show off their moves. The mood was that of happiness and love and the partying felt electric all evening!
Holly & Alex were both an absolute joy to work with. A really kind couple with great hearts. The whole team at Blackstock send them our very best wishes for their happily ever after.
