We all know that this time of year is one of the most romantic times in the calendar, apart from Valentines Day. There are many proposals on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day as well as perhaps Boxing Day! And then New Years Eve is probably the biggie – that massive statement gesture as the clock turns to the new year!
This time of year always has a really high rate of wedding engagements, with couples getting caught up in many romantic Christmas proposals.
And the next question is “how long will it be until you choose the date for your wedding?” Some people, for one reason or another, will opt for a long engagement. And that is absolutely fine. Circumstances could be that some may not be able to commit to dates, bookings etc. Not yet anyway.
However, if you are completely caught up in all the excitement of your new engagement and you want to get the ball rolling, then now is the time to do it! Get all the initial bookings made, or at least start to look. There is honestly so much choice and if this is the first time you have dipped your toe in the water, it can appear to be quite intimidating. Especially if you are looking to book everything separately.
Choose the date of your wedding. Once you have your date confirmed, then one of the next main decisions to be made is where you will get married and have your reception. Do you have a particular church that you would like to be married in, or would you like to have an all inclusive venue, where you can stay in the one place to get prepared, ready, married as well as have your reception and even stay for your wedding night!
This is where Blackstock Country Estate really come into their own. Along with a beautiful bridal suite, where the bride can spend the morning with her friends and family, getting ready…hair, make up a spot of brekkie as well as a few glasses of champagne – what is not to love about this!
Then we have our stunning Tudor Barn, where you will be married. This is probably one of the most romantic settings you could be married in and is loved by all of our couples. Or perhaps in the summer months, you may want to be married outside, in our spectacular grounds, enjoying those beautiful views over the rolling Sussex Downs.
The Granary is where you will enjoy your first meal together as a married couple. It holds up to 150 guests, but still looks wonderful with only 50. This is a restored barn that has many original features and is a wonderful space for all to enjoy.
The views for photographs is also a real winner for our couples. We have a wonderful lake and some fabulous vistas. There are so many fabulous views and great photo opportunities for you – and after all these are what you will look at over the coming years – you need to get them right!
Many couples like to stay where they get married, which we are really happy to sort for you. Most will choose either the bridal suite with four poster, or the Goat Shed, which proves really popular and is a little bit of heaven as well as a real escape for you both at the end of the day. We can also accommodate a lot of your family and friends for the night as we have our Farmhouse as well as the 3 bedroom self catered cottage.
If you do get engaged over the next few weeks then booking your date and venue are the main things to sort. Everything else can happen afterwards and you can relax once you know the date. We would love to chat with you about your plans, your dream wedding and your love for each other.
