This wedding felt extremely special. Working with Emma and Will was an absolute joy; their special day was just wonderful. This is how it went…
Emma and Will really hit the sweet spot with the number of guests at their wedding by opting for a slightly smaller event. It allowed everyone they wanted to be present whilst also keeping things close and intimate. It was a lovely day to get married and it really shows in the pictures. Everything seemed to fall into place perfectly for the happy couple on their day.
The Bride and Groom had exclusive access to both the Tudor Barn and the Granary, which helped things run exceptionally smoothly.
Emma chose to take full advantage of our onsite bridal room to prepare herself for the day ahead. She opted to have delicious croissants and pastries delivered to the room. The bride, mums, as well as bridesmaids and any other chosen guests can have their hair and makeup done here if required. Being on-site also means once you are ready, you can change, relax and don’t need to travel anywhere. Using our fabulous bridal room gives everyone the opportunity to get ready together and really helps to kick start the day with excitement.
Will arrived a few hours later after getting ready at home.
The Bride and Groom’s day guests started to arrive at around midday, for a 1pm ceremony.
Everyone looked fab. Will sported a sophisticated navy suit with a light yellow tie and a beautiful boutonnière. Emma looked gorgeous. Her stunning white bridal gown looked perfect on her. All the stops were pulled out; they both seriously looked gorgeous!
Their emotional ceremony took place in our beautiful Tudor Barn. The barn had a real charm about it on the big day. Emma and Will, with a bit of help from our amazing team, did an excellent job of decorating and detailing our old barn. There were subtle white fairy lights and flower details running up and around the rustic support beams, it was a truly magical sight to behold.
After the ceremony, all the guests were invited outside to enjoy the arrangement of lawn games and a trio string band that had been arranged by the newlyweds. With the guests occupied, the happy couple explored our wonderful grounds and enjoyed taking part in some intimate and lovely photographs; taking full advantage of our fabulous Sussex countryside views.
Once the Bride and Groom had finished their photoshoot, everyone ventured into the Granary and were seated in preparation for their meal.
Everyone was seated for the wedding breakfast and cheered for the announcement of the newly married couple. It truly was a joy-filled moment for everybody.
Emma and Will chose a lovely three-course meal that was thoroughly enjoyed by all:
Chorizo Scotch Egg with crispy pancetta, heritage tomato salsa and roasted pepper dressing
Southdown lamb shank, slow cooked in red wine, garlic and rosemary, served on Dauphinoise Potatoes
Passionfruit Posset, served with fresh berries and shortbread biscuit
Once everyone had finished their meal and enjoyed the last of the heartfelt, emotional and funny speeches, the Tudor Barn was filled once again for an evening of celebrations!
Emma and Will cut their wedding cake which was romantically followed by their first dance. It was a wonderful moment that everyone present will remember for the rest of their lives.
Once the fun and dancing had concluded the newlyweds made their way over to The Goat Shed, their luxury accommodation for the night. The small cottage gave the happy couple some time to be away from it all and really live in the moment, together as a couple. All of our on-site accommodation was booked for family and friends, making the journey back to their beds as easy as possible.
We really enjoyed working with both Emma and Will and we wish them both our very best wishes for their happily ever after.
“You were honestly so great from start to finish – friendly, prompt, accommodating and flexible (the list goes on). On the day, the team at Blackstock were wonderful, again, very friendly and efficient – we never felt rushed or uncomfortable. Thank you for also helping set things up on the day; like the room guest gift bags and the evening sweets…and thanks for adding a couple of spare seats for the extra ceremony guests.
The day went so well, it was honestly the best day of our lives. We are so sad it’s over, but can’t wait to get our photos and video from the pros to re-live the day.
It goes without saying that Blackstock is a stunning venue (helped by the tremendous weather we had) and the grounds were immaculate. Honestly, we can’t recommend Blackstock enough. All of our family and friends commented throughout the day on how amazing everything was (the venue, food, staff – everything)!”
