We have had some amazing photographs for this wedding, courtesy of Chris Giles Photography. So we have added lots into this blog so you can get a real feel for this fabulous wedding that happened back in August. Eleanor & Ashley opted for a medium-sized wedding, which still had an intimate feel but allowed for more important people to be there. They chose to have their wedding on a Friday which worked perfectly for them. Eleanor and Ashley had exclusive access to both our beautiful Tudor Barn and Granary, which helped the day run smoothly.
Eleanor arrived at 8:00 am and decided to take full advantage of our beautiful makeup room which really does start the day with love and excitement. The bride, both mums as well as bridesmaids and any other chosen guests can have their hair and makeup done here if required. Being on-site also means once you are ready, you can change, relax and don’t need to travel anywhere – how stress free and relaxed!
Ashley arrived slightly later at 11:30, after getting dressed and ready at home. Ashley and his groomsmen all sported sophisticated grey suits with tails and pink accents. Eleanor left the Bridal room looking fabulous in her stunning bridal gown. We think it’s clear that both the Bride and Groom pulled out all the stops on their big day.
Their ceremony took place in our beautiful Tudor Barn. With beautiful white flowers and fairy lights wrapped around the rustic support beams of the barn, it was a truly magical sight to behold. The decorations were only emphasised by the gorgeous candles and Chiavari Chairs the guests were seated on. There was a strong theme of white at the ceremony which only made the event feel more heavenly – it was magnificent.
After the ceremony, all the guests were invited outside whilst the newlyweds explored our wonderful grounds and enjoyed taking part in some lovely photographs; taking full advantage of the fabulous Sussex countryside views.
Once the Bride and Groom had finished their photoshoot, everyone ventured into the Granary and were seated in preparation for their meal.
Everyone was seated for the wedding breakfast and an announcement of the newly married Mr and Mrs Abbey. It truly was a joy-filled moment for everybody.
Eleanor and Ashley chose a lovely three-course meal that was thoroughly enjoyed by all:
Melted baked Camembert
Duo of beef; fillet of beef, brisket on bon, caramelized onion mash, roasted yellow beetroot and wild mushroom cream sauce
Spinach pappardelle with wild mushrooms, chestnuts and broad beans
Hot chocolate fondant, pistachio ice cream and coffee creme Anglaise
After all the food and the three speeches were finished, the Tudor Barn was filled for an evening of dancing and fun! With music being provided by DJ Dave, they really helped set the mood for the Bride and Groom’s first dance.
The newlyweds cut their wonderful cake courtesy of Karen Abbey, the mother of the Groom and went down a treat with everyone.
We really enjoyed working with both Eleanor and Ashley and we wish them both our very best wishes for their happily ever after.
