The weddings have been coming in thick and fast in 2022 and Dave and Lou’s wedding was actually booked in for a Thursday. Blackstock Estate can work with whichever day of the week you prefer and many are opting for mid-week now.
Lou chose to use the Bridal Room, which is so popular with most of our brides. All of Lou’s bridesmaids enjoyed a fabulous Continental breakfast, including croissants & danish, cheeses & charcuteries, delivered straight to the room.
This always starts the day off in such a lovely way – whatever the weather, you don’t need to go anywhere once you are ready. It really is a perfect way to enjoy some time together, getting ready, with your hair, make up and wedding attire. Then it is just a short walk to the Tudor Barn where you will be married…
Lou’s son actually walked her down the aisle, which made everything so much more special. Lou looked stunning and was welcomed by her groom, waiting tentatively at the end for her.
One thing we noticed with their wedding was how much love and laughter there was within the whole day. It was a really special wedding.
Once the ceremony was completed and everyone had been welcomed onto the patio for drinks, Dave and Lou snuck away with their photographer Chris Georghiou to take some more intimate shots of the two of them. This is always such a special time for a couple – those first moments as a married couple, where it is just the two of you, just for a few moments before the rest of the celebrations commence.
There was free flowing Pimms for everyone, plus Dave had arranged as a surprise for Lou to give her her favourite tipple – a Pornstar Martini!!
Then they were all welcomed into The Granary to have their first meal together as a married couple.
After canapes were enjoyed by all, Dave & Lou chose a lovely three-course meal :
Aromatic duck salad with cucumber, spring onion, pickled mooly and sesame seed salad. with a hoi-sin and plum dressing, pomegranate and coriander
Rosemary and lemon chargrilled chicken, on a bed of roasted Mediterranean vegetables and new potatoes with a vine tomato and red pepper sauce
Warm Sticky Toffee Pudding smothered with a rich caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream
There were a few vegetarians who enjoyed their delicious three courses, as well a couple of yummy kids meals! There was then a burger stall set up for the evening food which really went down a treat with everyone.
Once again, The Tudor Barn didn’t disappoint! With loads of dancing, love and much laughter within the room, the new Mr & Mrs King celebrated in style with all their nearest and dearest.
Everyone commented on how well the day flowed. It was relaxed, full of laughter and was such a fun day for everyone.
Many of our couples choose to book all the accommodation at Blackstock Estate. We offer really luxurious rooms for much of the bridal party which really finishes off the evening.
Dave and Lou chose the Bridal Suite, our Tudor Cottage, with their closest friends and family filling the Farmhouse, the Cottage and the Goat Shed.
