In May, Caroline and Alex celebrated their East Sussex wedding with us at Blackstock Country Estate. This is an overview of the beautiful day they had, celebrating their love with family and friends.
Caroline had an early start on her wedding day, arriving at the makeup room at 8am. There, her and her bridesmaids had their hair and makeup done by Danielle at Makeover Box, and ate a yummy breakfast of pastries!
The atmosphere was joyful, and when the groom arrived at 10am, everything started to feel real for the happy couple…in a few hours they would be married!
The ceremony began with guests arriving at 1pm, greeted by the wonderful harpist, Fiona Hosford. Drinks were served at the bar and everyone was excited to witness the wedding of their dear friends. At 2pm, the gorgeous bride, Caroline, walked down the aisle, hand in hand with her father.
Next came the reception, where canapes of mini beef burgers, spiced tiger prawn sticks, and mini Chinese vegetable spring rolls were served on the patio. Guests talked amongst themselves and the bride and groom took pictures out in the sun, with the amazing photographer Rebecca Campbell
At 4pm, guests were seated, and the wedding breakfast was served. Here’s a little taste of what they had:
Starters – Tender chicken breast served on a bed of iceberg, white cabbage and scallions salad, with sweet chili sauce or roasted butternut and tomato soup, with rosemary, served with toasted sour dough
Mains – Traditional roast beef, served with roasted garlic, thyme potatoes, and Yorkshire puddings or roasted butternut lattice, with a smoked paprika tomato sauce
Desserts – Chocolate brownie, served with a dark chocolate sauce and salted caramel ice cream or strawberries and cream shortcake with a light Chantilly cream and English strawberries
After the tasty meal accompanied by the bride and groom’s fabulous playlist, the speeches began. There was laughter, tears, and most importantly, great memories. Guests were upgraded to champagne and offered tea/coffee!
At 7pm, evening guests arrived, along with the amazing DJ Dave. The Bride and Groom cut the cake, and then followed it up with their romantic first dance.
The evening buffet was served an hour later, and guests danced the night away to their favourite tunes!
Finally, after a long day of celebrating, it was time to turn in for the night. Most guests left, but some of the bride and groom’s closest friends and family stayed the night at our wonderful accommodation – the newlyweds staying in the Goat Shed – perfect for their wedding night.

“Thank you so much for giving us the best day. Everyone cannot stop talking about how beautiful the venue was, how organised and easy the day flowed, and how much fun they had. It really was everything we had hoped for!
You really made organising the whole day so much easier for us and I cannot thank you enough.
I would advise future couples to come to your wedding fayre because we booked our DJ, Magic Mirror, Harpist and Hair and Makeup from that day. And they were all brilliant.
The accommodation was lovely and the breakfast together in the morning was a real bonus. Honestly, 27th May 2023, was the most magical day. I can’t stop looking at photos and watching the videos.”
