Amy and Jamie got married back in 2021, and we were thrilled to hear from Amy recently with some fabulous photos of their day. We really loved hosting their wedding at Blackstock Estate. Our team were involved in every stage of the planning process, and we were always available to help whenever they needed us. We had a great time working with this great couple, to create a truly magical day for them.
Amy and Jamie invited a total of 141 guests to their wedding, half of which would arrive later in the day for the evening celebrations. This number of guests worked perfectly for our venue, as well as for the couple, allowing them to have everyone they wanted to be there without feeling crowded or disrupting the intimate atmosphere.
They had exclusive access to both the Granary and Tudor Barn on the day, which ensured that everything went smoothly.
Amy arrived at 8.00 am and opted to take full advantage of our on-site bridal suite and makeup room to prepare herself for the wonderful day ahead.
The bride, mothers, bridesmaids, and other selected guests can have their hair and makeup done in our on-site bridal room. This convenience allows them to change and relax once they are ready without having to travel elsewhere. Our beautiful bridal room offers a great space for everyone to get ready together and helps to build excitement for the day ahead.
Jamie arrived a few hours later and prepared himself in the Goat Shed with some other guests.
Their ceremony was truly magical. Amy appeared radiant in her stunning bridal gown while her husband-to-be looked refined in his grey suit. Despite Jamie pulling out all the stops, we would both happily agree that Amy stole the show. The ceremony took place in our gorgeous Tudor Barn, which was beautifully decorated with wonderful fairy lights and details. The white theme was carried throughout the space, from the flower arrangements to the aisle runner and Chiavari chair decorations.
The overall atmosphere was one of purity and elegance.
After the ceremony, the guests were offered a variety of delicious canapes while the newlyweds took a brief break to have a photoshoot, courtesy of Sarah L Jones Photography.
This is often one of the most special moments of the day, as it provides the newly married couple with the opportunity to take some time out and spend it together. As a couple, your wedding day will feel like a dream. Taking the time to spend a few minutes alone together is important. Plus, these moments will be captured on camera, making it even easier to look back and reminisce. Many couples find that this time away from the crowds is a wonderfully intimate moment, and the photos taken will be treasured for years to come. It’s a small investment of time that can add to the overall enjoyment of your special day.
After the couple returned from their private moments together, they were met with a really warm welcome as they entered the Granary for the wedding breakfast. Blackstock’s Toast Master announced Mr and Mrs Nye to the room, where they were greeted with a round of applause and cheers.
The couple had put a lot of thought into their wedding food, and it showed. It was clear that Amy and Jamie had thought about every aspect of their special day and it really paid off. The couple arranged an outdoor BBQ for their guests, featuring sausages, burgers in a bun and peppered steak. This allowed them to make the most of the summer’s evening as well as the beautiful views of Blackstock Estate. The help-yourself-style BBQ included a selection of salads as well as a side of hot new potatoes. From the look on their guests’ faces when the Malteser chocolate moose was brought out for dessert, it was clear that Amy and Jamie knew exactly who they were catering for!
Once all of the guests had finished their meals they were invited back into the Tudor Barn to continue the celebrations. A fully stocked bar awaited them, ready to keep the party going deep into the night. They wanted their guests to have a great time and make the most of the evening. The atmosphere was electric, and it was clear that everyone was looking forward to dancing the night away. The remaining 70 evening guests arrived and were present for the cutting of the cake and the heartfelt speeches. Afterwards, the couple shared their first dance as husband and wife. It was a beautiful, intimate moment that everyone present felt privileged to witness.
The happy couple had clearly thought of everything. A Tex-Mex Taco station as well as some mini fish and chips were arranged to be brought out by our catering team! These went down an absolute treat and kept the celebrations going strong deep into the night!
As the night drew to a close, the newlyweds made their way to the Tudor Cottage, their luxurious accommodation for the night. The cosy cottage provided the perfect space for the couple to spend their first night together as a married couple, and to reflect on the events of the day. It was a wonderful end to a truly special day, and the couple were grateful for the opportunity to spend some quiet time together before embarking on the next chapter of their lives together.
