How Do You Get There From Eastbourne?
Blackstock Country Estate sits at Hellingly, a few miles inland from Eastbourne.
Polegate station is seven miles away via the A22 and sits on the main line to London Victoria. Full directions are on our contact page. There is plenty of parking on site.
Booking Your Ceremony Through Eastbourne
Couples marrying at Blackstock Country Estate book their registrars through East Sussex Registration, whose register office is at Eastbourne Town Hall on Grove Road. The number is 0345 60 80 198.
The wing of the Tudor Barn is licensed for civil ceremonies and civil partnerships for up to 120 guests, with a reveal curtain across the entrance and air conditioning for warm days. Chiavari chairs can be dressed to suit your colour scheme.
Can You Marry Outdoors At Blackstock Country Estate?
Yes, from May to September you can marry outside in the grounds rather than in the barn. We set out the white folded resin chairs, run an outdoor PA and put out the registrars’ table, then clear it away once everyone has moved on to drinks.

Two Barns, One Booking
Both barns at Blackstock Country Estate are yours on the day, and one booking covers the pair. The Tudor Barn is five hundred years old, with the ancient oak still visible overhead, a large oak bar and a refurbished minstrel’s gallery above it. The Granary is where you eat, under a vaulted ceiling and antique cartwheel chandeliers, with one wall of floor-to-ceiling glazing opening onto the courtyard.
You marry in one, eat in the other, and come back to the first once the evening guests arrive. Each room is finished before anyone walks into it.
Drinks and canapés happen in between, out on the courtyard or the terrace, with views over the Cuckmere valley, with horses and llamas in the fields beyond. There is more detail and more photographs on the Tudor Barn and Granary pages.
Accommodation On The Estate
There is accommodation on the estate, a farmhouse and cottages among the meadows and lakes, and a bridal suite with a makeup room for the morning. Eight pitches take caravans, motorhomes and campervans, with fresh water, electric hook-up and a chemical waste point, for wedding guests only.

What Is Included, And What It Costs
Catering at Blackstock Country Estate is done in house. Circa run the kitchen and the event management here, and have been doing Sussex catering since they started out in Lewes in 2000. Menus are built with you around your tastes, budget and theme, with ingredients sourced locally wherever possible. Full menus are on the catering page.
A full day at Blackstock Country Estate is quoted individually, because the number moves with your date, your guest count and what you want included. For a fixed figure to work from, our twilight weddings start at £5,450 for 2026, £5,950 for 2027 and £6,450 for 2028, based on 50 guests Monday to Thursday. That covers the Tudor Barn and the grounds, a ceremony from 4pm, the makeup room from 11am, a glass of prosecco or a bottled beer each, three canapés a head and a choice from the evening buffet.
Friday to Sunday adds a supplement, extra guests are charged per head, and £1,500 holds the date.
