LGBTQ+ Wedding Venue in Sussex

Blackstock Country Estate is an LGBTQ+ wedding venue in Sussex, set in 70 acres of rolling countryside with panoramic views across the South Downs. We have a proud history of hosting weddings for same-sex couples and have always been an LGBTQ friendly venue, whether you are getting married, holding a civil partnership ceremony or converting an existing civil partnership. This page walks you through what we offer Sussex couples: our two fully licensed rustic barns, the grounds and gardens for your photographs, our in-house catering, the on-site accommodation, and the wedding team who guide you through the planning.

A Sussex Venue Built Around Your Day

Sussex has a real range of wedding venues, including coastal hotels and grand country houses, but couples looking for an LGBTQ+ wedding venue in Sussex often want somewhere with more character and more room to make the day their own. Our two charming rustic barns, the Tudor Barn and The Granary, do exactly that, giving you a relaxed, countryside feel with the open landscape of the South Downs all around. The day belongs to you, and our team make sure every part of it reflects the two of you.

Fully Licensed Barns For Your Ceremony

Both of our rustic barns are fully licensed for ceremonies for up to 150 guests, so you can hold the legal ceremony and the celebration in one place. The barns are a blank canvas in the best sense, ready for you to add your own style, whether you picture something pared back and intimate or a big gathering with everyone you love around you.

Outside, the estate has two beautiful lakes, a scented wedding garden and several courtyards. These give you a wonderful choice of settings for your photographs, and the changing light across the Sussex countryside means no two couples end up with quite the same album.

On-Site Catering Team

Food is a big part of the experience at any Sussex wedding, and our highly experienced in-house caterers take it seriously. The choice spans a whole Sussex roast pig, barbecues, champagne afternoon tea and traditional three or four course wedding breakfasts. As a bespoke catering service, the team works with you to build a menu around your tastes and your guests, served by a friendly team who notice the small details. It is a highlight of many of the weddings we host.

What Our Couples Say

The best sense of a wedding venue often comes from the couples who have already married here. One couple told us: “We have been overwhelmed by the wedding and all of the guests’ comments and feedback, it certainly was a day to remember. All of our guests have said what a perfect venue we chose, every single member of your team went above and beyond. All the food was amazing and the attention to detail was faultless. If we could do it all again we would and we wouldn’t change a single thing.” Shaun and Darren.
