What To Do Before Your Ceremony

The list of what to do before your wedding ceremony could be endless. So we have given you some of our top points; just little reminders that may help you to relax and really enjoy your wedding day.

Organisation is key – if you are organised and know you have everything covered, then you will be able to relax and enjoy everything so much more. Write lists beforehand of everything you need to bring with you on the day. Keep a notepad by the side of your bed – that is when you have the best ideas and thoughts, when it is quiet. This will be applicable for everything to do with the wedding as well!

On the day

Firstly Relax. We promise that we have everything in order…we’ve got this.

Make sure you give yourself enough time to get ready – aim to be ready for 30 mins minimum before your guests arrive.

It is lovely to start the celebrations with a glass of prosecco whilst getting ready. Maybe only a glass or two, just to steady the nerves though!

Please also make sure you also drink plenty of water, especially if it is a hot day (keeping hydrated is a must). It’s also a good idea to order some food whilst getting ready to make sure your stomach doesn’t rumble during the ceremony! Just something light though, no garlic or chilli!!

Make sure your photographer is with you for the whole time. Some of the best photographs are taken when everyone is laughing and getting ready. And that includes the groomsmen as well.

Before your make up artist arrives make sure you blow your nose. This may sound strange but you don’t want to have to do this when they have already done your foundation. Another great idea is to bring your dressing gown along, (home comforts are always a nice touch on the big day). By wearing your robe, you prevent any makeup getting onto your clothes, and it is always good to through on over your dress if your makeup needs touching up to keep your gown makeup free. Or perhaps treat yourself to a lovely new robe, maybe even one for all the bridesmaids so you look even more fabulous in your “getting ready” photographs.

Create a little makeup bag containing your makeup bits and pieces (also your deodorant, perfume and some tissues) for one of your bridesmaids to look after. Make sure you are fully comfortable with all the make up that is being used on you for the day. There are also many options to hold your make up in place. Please make sure you try these before the day so you know they work and you aren’t allergic to anything. Before you head down the aisle, spritz yourself a final time with some perfume to complete your look.

Go to the loo! You will be nervous so will probably be in and out of the bathroom all morning, especially drinking lots of water (or prosecco). Please try and remember to use the bathroom before you put your dress on – it will make things so much easier. With all the nervous excitement, your hands may be warm and possibly clammy. Five minutes before walking down the aisle dip your hands carefully in a bowl of cold water or gently under the cold tap – that way your ring should just slide on! (fingers crossed).

You may be nervous before the ceremony, but through remembering some of these tips, your grand entrance will be one to remember.

We wish you the best of luck and don’t forget to…

Smile and enjoy every minute!
