Blackstock Country Estate recently had the joy of working with Mr & Mrs Eyre. It was a true pleasure for the entire team to work alongside the couple and create a memorable day for them both. The couple’s traditional ambitions, paired with their unique personal style created a perfect balance on their day. Both were full of creative ideas that made the day truly special. Here’s how things went.
Chris and Liz’s day was most definitely one to remember. From beginning to end the day had a genuine and unique charm about it. They had such a fun day, along with all family, friends as well as their two little boys, who got to enjoy it all with them.
We really struggled to only pick a few photos for this post as there were just so many fun shots that really showed off their special bond and amazing sense of fun.
From the moment they stepped foot on the Blackstock Grounds they felt as though it would be the perfect place to exchange their vows. The renovated barns coupled with the stunning views solidified its spot as the backdrop for a magical day.
Being a November wedding day meant they would not be guaranteed and sort of good weather, so they wanted a venue that would look fabulous, even if they couldn’t go outside!
Liz decided to take full advantage of the onsite bridal suite, where she, her bridesmaids and family members got ready. We believe that this is the perfect way to kickstart the day with a fun and exciting atmosphere. They really did have such a fun start to the day.
The benefit of being onsite also means that once you are all ready you can change and relax, without the worry of having to travel anywhere.
We loved Liz’s choice of wedding shoes – you just need to be comfy when you are on your feet all day!
The ceremony was held in the Tudor Barn, which was wonderfully decorated to create a dreamy and romantic atmosphere. Chris, waiting in anticipation for his bride-to-be, stood handsomely in his traditional suit at the end of the aisle. Liz looked stunning in her gorgeous white bridal gown as she was walked down the aisle by her father. The ceremony was truly memorable. It was filled with emotional moments, such as the couple’s first kiss as newlyweds and the tears of joy on the faces of their guests.
After the ceremony, all the guests were invited outside to enjoy some drinks and canapes prepared by our catering team. With their guests happily occupied Chris and Liz snuck away and partook in a professional photoshoot with photographer Simon Newbury. With the time of year, many of the photos were taken indoors, but this really didn’t spoil the fun they all had. Chris and Liz’s personalties really shone through here!
With Blackstock, chances are high that your entire day will feel like a surreal experience. That’s why we believe that being able to take things slow and cherish the moment with your newlywed partner is incredibly precious. This quality time should not be underestimated, and it also results in some fantastic photos that you can look back on and relive for years to come.
Once the Bride and Groom finished their shoot, everyone ventured into the Granary and were seated in preparation for their meal.
Everyone was seated for the wedding breakfast in the Granary. The bride and groom were announced as a married couple for the first time when they entered the room, by friend and best woman Olivia. A wave of applause and cheers met the couple.
The couple did an excellent job of deciding upon a menu for their wedding breakfast. It was indeed a feast for all the senses! Here’s what was served:
CHORIZO SCOTCH EGG
with crispy pancetta, heritage tomato salsa and roasted pepper dressing
FEATHERBLADE OF BEEF
in a red wine jus, served with roasted red onion and truffle mash
WARM STICKY TOFFEE PUDDING
smothered with a rich caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream
The speeches were held after the main course but before dessert, keeping the guests engaged and improving the flow of the evening.
Once the meal was finished, the celebrations continued in the Tudor Barn, where a fully stocked bar was waiting for the guests. The couple cut their wedding cake which we had never seen before! As you can see from the photo, even their cakes showed off their sense of fun!
They shared their first dance as a married couple, creating a memorable moment that they will cherish forever.
After a hefty amount of dancing the couple joined their guests outside for some more photos with some sparklers! These pictures were fabulous!
At the end of the night, the newlyweds made their way to the Tudor Cottage, their luxury four poster accommodation for the night. Blackstock Country Estate offers a range of onsite accommodations for family and friends, making it easy for everyone to enjoy the celebrations.
